Your Guide To Money Mastery

Why Start

I’ve seen too many friends get deep into debt and be struggling to stay there, most of whom do not know how to get out.

This site is an answer to that question: “How do I start?” or “Where do I start?”

How Much is the Average American’s Student Debt?

The average debt held by a student in the class of 2016 was $37,172 (1) and as that number continues to rise it’s a sign that something is wrong.

Many people think the only option to finance their educational pursuits is to take out debt or work a menial job to make money to go through School. That’s what everyone else is doing right? So we must need to do the same.

How Much Debt Did You Have Coming Out Of School?

I graduated with just shy of $25,000 in student loan debt, didn’t start paying it back for 2 years and it grew to over $27,000, took out a credit card with 7% interest and racked up a $4,000 bill, had a car lease which was eating me alive for the first 9 months after graduating, and was working a job earning just $1000 a month coming out of school.

In just 3 short years I was able to go from over $33,555 in debt to completely debt free and have over $10,000 in savings and assets while earning just above minimum wage.

If I can do it, so can you. You just have to get creative with how you attack your problems. Read more about My Personal Debt journey.

So Who Am I?

My Name is Kristian, I spell it with a “K”. Currently I live in Austin Texas where I was born and raise. I moved away at the age of 17 to attend school in upstate New York, traveled to Hong Kong and Austria, and finally moved back in 2013.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to travel to Canada, China, Thailand, Macau, Philippines, France, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Hungary, Belgium, Costa Rica, and Dubai in my short time here on earth.

My most enjoyable place I’ve been to has been Graz Austria. I just love the culture and the small town vibe that the city had to offer. The friendly people and the food was delicious. I was fortunate enough to go to one of the world famous Ztlotter chocolate factories and get a tour of how they make chocolate from scratch.

There have been many more wonderful places that I’ve been to along the way and many more that I’m imagining seeing in the near future.

Now I find I have an insatiable urger to travel, eat new and unique food, and explore cultures and languages along the way.

I very much enjoy reading and learning new languages when I visit another country. To date I can say “where is the toilet” and ” may I have a beer” in about 6 languages. If you ever see me coming to your neck of the woods then please feel free to buy me a beer and I will gladly regale you with tales of my travel 😉
